What it is
Kipwick is a learning app for children from kindergarten through sixth grade. Kipwick, a friendly chameleon explorer, travels with each child through Learning Lands (a farm, a bug garden, a coral reef, a jungle and more), where every game practices a real skill from the school year.

Built on school standards
Reading, math and science skills mapped to what children learn in school. Each day’s pick comes from the skills a child most needs to practice.

Help that teaches
When a child gets something wrong, Kipwick and the land guides show them how, step by step, the way a good teacher would.

A world they build
Effort earns what children use to build their own world, level up an explorer and fill a collection of creatures. Learning is the way forward, so they ask to play.

Grown-ups see everything
A PIN-protected grown-ups’ area shows each child’s progress and every setting. Anything AI had a hand in is labeled.
Kipwick runs in the browser and installs to the home screen of any tablet, phone or computer in about two minutes. There is no app store download, and it updates itself.
Why I made it
Hi, I’m AJ, and I’m a dad.
I built Kipwick for my two sons. I wanted something that would really help them learn to read, do math and understand science, and that they’d ask to play. Most of what I found was either a worksheet with a cartoon stuck on top, or a game that kept them tapping without learning much.
So I started building one at our kitchen table, and my boys tested every piece. When something was confusing or boring, they told me (loudly), and we fixed it. Every new piece still gets played by kids before it reaches yours.

For every child
A family’s budget shouldn’t decide how good a child’s learning tools are.
Too often the best learning apps sit behind a subscription, and the children who would gain the most from them are the least likely to have one. Kipwick is built the other way around: the learning is free for every child, and it stays free.
- Learning is free. Every land, every lesson, every voice, for every child. No trial that runs out and no lesson held back.
- Kids never pay. There is nothing to buy on a child’s screen. Optional extras are for grown-ups to decide on, and learning never depends on them.
- No ads, ever. We never sell a family’s information, and we collect only what Kipwick needs to work.
